Arabic Music Getting Its Own IP Investment Play
Anghami co-founder Eddy Maroun is building a platform to unlock serious money in Arabic music catalogs.

The Move
Eddy Maroun—who helped build Anghami into one of the Middle East's biggest streaming platforms—is launching IPNation, a new investment vehicle focused entirely on Arabic music intellectual property. The platform just picked up backing from Influence Media Partners and is aiming to raise $100 million.
The play is straightforward: Arabic music catalogs have historically been fragmented and undervalued compared to their Western counterparts. IPNation wants to be the first dedicated investment platform that treats Arabic music IP like the real asset it is, giving artists, producers, and rights holders actual capital to work with.
Why It Matters
This isn't just another startup flex. The Arab music market has been sleeping on its own catalog value for years while Western labels and platforms vacuumed up rights globally. If IPNation executes, it could shift how Arabic music gets financed, distributed, and monetized at scale.
For a region with massive streaming numbers and cultural influence, having institutional money backing the actual intellectual property is a long-overdue move.
