Ben Wang Making Moves: Young Star in Talks to Play Iceman in Marvel's X-Men Reboot
The Hunger Games and Karate Kid actor is circling one of Marvel's most classic mutant roles.

Ben Wang's stock is rising fast. After holding his own in "The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" and headlining the new "Karate Kid" film, the actor is now in talks with Marvel Studios to take on Bobby Drake—Iceman—in the studio's upcoming "X-Men" reboot.
Iceman is no minor role either. He's one of the original X-Men, created back in the day by Stan Lee, and represents the kind of legacy character that could anchor a major franchise. For Wang, landing this would be a massive step up—we're talking about becoming part of the MCU's next big push.
Wang's been on a steady climb through prestige franchises, and adding Marvel to that resume would cement his status as a legitimate lead actor. The negotiations are early, but if this goes through, we're looking at another strong casting move from Marvel as they rebuild their mutant universe.
More details on where things stand coming soon.
