BET's 'ComicView: Rooftop Series' Gets Season 2 Green Light
The stand-up revival that brought comedy back to the rooftop is getting 20 more episodes.

BET ain't letting the momentum die. The network just renewed ComicView: Rooftop Series for Season 2, ordering up 20 fresh episodes of the revived stand-up staple that hit in June. CP Powell's back hosting, which means more comedians getting their time on that Hollywood rooftop stage.
The whole premise is straightforward — real comics, real venue, 60 performers across the season doing their thing. No studio audience tricks, no over-produced nonsense. Just jokes in the open air, which hits different when you're trying to build back what made the original ComicView matter to people in the first place.
It's a solid move by BET. Stand-up's been missing a real home on cable for a minute, and giving working comedians a consistent platform — especially ones who might not be getting the Netflix special pushes yet — actually matters. Season 2 signals they believe in what they built, not just testing the waters and bouncing.
