Brad Pitt Heading Back to San Sebastian After 15 Years
The actor's returning to Spain with a David Ayer joint—his first festival appearance there since 'Inglourious Basterds' dropped in 2009.

Brad Pitt's about to touch down in San Sebastian for the first time in over a decade. This time he's bringing David Ayer's Heart of the Beast to the Spanish festival, a solid come-up for the pic and a reminder that Pitt still moves deliberate when it comes to where his work shows up.
Last time he was there, he and Tarantino were running victory laps with Inglourious Basterds back in 2009. That's a long gap between festival runs for somebody of his caliber—says something about how selective he's gotten with the whole press-and-premiere circuit.
Ayer's been cooking up real work lately, and having Pitt bring this one to a festival with that kind of prestige is a move. San Sebastian's always been about the craft, the story, not just the star power—even though Pitt's still got plenty of both. Worth keeping an eye on what Heart of the Beast is actually about and why Pitt picked this moment to show back up on that stage.
