Christy Knowings, 'All That' Pioneer, Gone at 46
The Nickelodeon sketch legend and trailblazer has passed away.

Christy Knowings, one of the cast pillars of Nickelodeon's All That, died this week at 46. An asthma attack led to serious complications that hospitalized her over the weekend, ultimately proving fatal.
All That was more than a kids' show—it was a launchpad. The sketch comedy series became a training ground for young Black performers and writers during the late '90s and early 2000s, when that kind of mainstream platform wasn't guaranteed. Knowings was part of that legacy, helping shape the show's comedic DNA during a formative run on cable.
The entertainment world moves fast and memory fades faster. But the people who broke ground on these stages, who showed up and made kids laugh while opening doors—that matters. Rest easy.
