Ellen Pompeo Stepping Into New Scrubs With Fresh Medical Drama
After two decades as Meredith Grey, Ellen Pompeo is trading Grey Sloan Memorial for a whole new ER.

Ellen Pompeo is about to prove she's more than just one of TV's most iconic doctors. The Grey's Anatomy lifer—who's been carrying that show for 22 seasons straight—is headlining a brand new medical drama called Not A Sound.
This isn't some side gig between hospital shifts. Pompeo is stepping into the lead role, which means this project gets her full attention as Grey's winds down its endless run. After that long in one character's shoes, a fresh medical story makes sense; she's been there, done that, got the surgical cap.
It's the natural move for an actor at her level—keep the bag moving, stay in familiar territory (hospitals clearly work for her), but switch up the setting and the material. Whether Not A Sound becomes the next Grey's or just a solid network play remains to be seen, but at minimum, Pompeo's got the credibility to carry a show.
The real question: can she leave Meredith Grey behind long enough to make us believe in whoever this new character is? That's the only ER that matters right now.
