Fresh Sounds This Week: Phoebe Bridgers, L'Rain, and the Rest Worth Your Time
New albums dropping that actually deserve the attention.

Every week there's a flood of new music, but some releases cut through the noise. This round's got some heavy hitters and some names you might've slept on — and that's the whole point.
Phoebe Bridgers is back doing what she does best: introspective indie-folk that hits different. But she's not the only one bringing something real to the table. L'Rain's experimental approach and a handful of other artists are all trading in their work right now, each coming from a different angle.
The beauty of a week like this is range. You got your singer-songwriter stuff, you got your left-field experimentalists, and everything in between. Not all of it's gonna grab you immediately — that's not how real music works — but if you've got an open ear and forty-five minutes to kill, there's enough here to make the commute worthwhile.
Head to the full list and see what speaks to you. These things usually reveal themselves on the second or third listen anyway.
