How Hombale Films Turned 'Hanuman Ansh' Into a Global Play
The K.G.F and Kantara team figured out how to take a devotional film worldwide—and it's working.

Hombale Films just pulled back the curtain on how they moved "Hanuman Ansh" from a regional Indian hit into genuine international territory. The devotional film, written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi and based on his book "Divine Detour," has already crossed $3.5 million in gross revenue outside India—not bad for a faith-based project that could've easily stayed domestic.
This is the same outfit that built the "K.G.F" and "Kantara" franchises into global names, so they know how to work an audience beyond borders. They're laying out exactly how they made it happen, which matters because Indian cinema's international expansion usually gets built on action beats and spectacle. A devotional film doing serious numbers overseas? That's a different playbook.
The move signals something real: there's hunger for Indian stories that aren't trying to be Bollywood or Tollywood in the Western sense. When a company like Hombale figures out the distribution math on something this specific, other producers take notes. This could open lanes for films that weren't getting greenlit before.
