Hulu Pulls the Plug on 'Deli Boys' After Season Two
Another comedy gets the ax. Hulu's shutting down the Asif Ali-led series.
Hulu and Onyx Collective are done with Deli Boys. The comedy series won't be coming back after two seasons—a solid-but-not-quite cast (Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan, Fred Armisen, Andrew Rannells) couldn't carry it to a third.
It's the streaming shuffle we've all gotten used to by now: show premieres, builds some buzz, gets a second wind, then silence. Hulu's been especially trigger-happy with cancellations across their comedy slate, and Deli Boys just didn't crack through enough to warrant keeping it alive.
Nothing's official on what's next for the cast, but this is how it goes in the streamer era—shows live and die fast, with barely any runway to find their legs. The Onyx Collective brand was supposed to platform diverse voices, but the algorithm doesn't care about good intentions.
