Jack White Mourns Loss of Brother Eddie Gillis
The White Stripes legend shares grief over the passing of his older brother, who played a key role in his vinyl empire.

Jack White is processing some real pain today. His older brother Eddie Gillis—who spent years keeping Third Man Pressing running behind the scenes—has passed away. White took to social media to reflect on the loss, calling him "a beautiful soul."
Eddie wasn't just family; he was infrastructure. Third Man Pressing is the Nashville-based vinyl manufacturing operation that's become central to White's whole vision around analog records and tactile music. Having family embedded in that kind of operation, especially someone in a management role, means Eddie's fingerprints were all over how those records got made and shipped.
White has always been intentional about the physical side of music—the pressing, the packaging, the ritual of it. That doesn't happen without people behind the scenes who actually care about the details. Losing someone who helped hold that together hits different.
This is one of those reminders that the music business runs on relationships and trust, and sometimes the most important people never make the headlines.
