Jason Clarke Locked In for Will Smith's 'Supermax' Action Flick
Another major name just signed on to the Amazon MGM thriller — here's who's building out the cast.
Jason Clarke is the latest addition to Supermax, the action-thriller bringing together Will Smith and AnnaSophia Robb for Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax. The Australian actor's role is being kept under wraps, but his deal is done.
Clarke joins a growing roster that already includes Jaafar Jackson, who broke through earlier this year on the strength of the Michael Jackson biopic. Both actors landed their spots within days of each other, signaling the project is moving fast to fill out its ensemble.
Not much else is public yet — character specifics, plot details, the whole nine. But with Smith leading and a credible supporting cast rounding out, Supermax is shaping up to be one of the bigger action plays coming down the pipeline. The fact that Miramax is involved alongside Amazon MGM also speaks to some real budget and ambition behind this one.
More names will probably drop soon. This is the kind of movie that needs a solid cast around its star to work.
