JYP's Numbers Take a Hit as Stray Kids Tour Gap Bites

K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment is feeling the weight of timing and momentum shifts.

JYP Entertainment just reported some sobering Q2 numbers: revenues dropped 15.1% year-over-year, and net profit tanked 40.3%. That's a significant dip for one of the bigger players in K-pop.

The culprit? It comes down to the tour calendar. Last year's Q2 had Stray Kids' world tour running at full steam—the kind of revenue engine that moves the needle for a company this size. This year's quarter caught the company in between tours, when that touring income wasn't flowing in the same way.

It's a real reminder of how dependent these entertainment companies still are on live revenue, especially when you've got an artist as massive as Stray Kids. Tours are where the money lives, but they also create these timing gaps when you're comparing year-to-year. JYP's betting on the next cycle to even things back out.
