Lauren London Cast as Snoop's Mom in Universal Biopic
Lauren London is stepping into one of hip-hop's most pivotal family roles.

Lauren London is locked in to play Beverly Tate, Snoop Dogg's mother, in Universal's upcoming biopic hitting theaters August 2027. It's a significant casting move — Beverly Tate was the backbone holding everything together while Snoop was building his empire, and London's got the range to do that story justice.
This is the kind of role that matters in a musician's biopic. You can have all the flashy studio moments and chart-toppers you want, but the real weight comes from showing where an artist comes from. Snoop's relationship with his mother has always been central to understanding him — the respect, the foundation, all of it traces back there.
London's been selective with her roles, which makes the choice to get involved feel intentional. Universal's clearly building this out as a proper film, not just a cash grab on a legacy. With this kind of casting and a 2027 release date, they're thinking long-term about how they want to tell Snoop's story.
We'll be watching to see who else lands spots in the lineup. This one's got potential to be something real.
