Lucas From NCT Pivots to Acting in Taiwanese Folk-Drama 'A Time'
The idol's trading the stage for a serious acting role in a period drama about Taiwan's 70s music scene.

Lucas Wong, best known for his time in NCT, is making his acting debut in "A Time," a new Taiwanese drama series centered on the country's 1970s campus folk-music movement. The project was unveiled at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest by director Tsao Jui-yuan, who's spent eight years developing it.
Wong's co-starring with Jerry Yan and Ning Chang in what looks like an ambitious period piece—Tsao's built a reputation on prestige work like "Crystal Boys" and "Seqalu: Formosa 1867," so this isn't some throwaway project. The story spans four decades of friendship, love, and the kind of cultural weight that comes with Taiwan's folk-music heritage.
It's a bold move for an idol to step into serious dramatic territory, especially in a foreign production. Whether Wong can hold his own against veteran actors remains to be seen, but getting attached to a Tsao Jui-yuan project says somebody believes in him. If he can make the transition stick, this could open up real acting opportunities beyond the K-pop machine.
