Shaq Got Blocked From the Avengers — And He's Still Not Over It
The Big Diesel wanted in on Marvel's biggest team-up. The studio said nah.

Shaq's got a resume in Hollywood that's wild — he's been cracking jokes in Adam Sandler flicks and other comedies for years. But there's one dream role the NBA legend couldn't land: suiting up for the Avengers.
The man who dominated the paint couldn't break through the Marvel fortress, and by his own admission, he's had to make peace with it. For someone used to getting everything he wants — seven-footers don't usually get told no — that's gotta sting a little.
Look, we all got that one thing we wanted but couldn't have. For most of us it's some chain or a vacation. For Shaq it's apparently being part of the biggest superhero franchise in movie history. Not the worst problem to have, honestly.
It's unclear exactly what the holdup was — whether it was timing, creative differences, or just Marvel doing Marvel things — but the point is Shaq's got jokes for days and the MCU passed. Their loss.
