South Festival Getting Money-Moves Week in 2027

Spanish series festival is building a whole investor summit to connect creators with capital.

The South International Series Festival just announced they're launching South Investors Week in 2027—a dedicated forum to link audiovisual producers with private financing, organized alongside the festival's fifth edition in Cádiz.

The move makes sense. It's one thing to premiere your series to industry people and press; it's another to actually sit down with money people who can greenlight projects. South Investors Week runs April 30–May 5, 2027, giving producers a solid week to pitch, network, and potentially lock funding. The festival is working with Mira Anta to pull this together.

This kind of infrastructure—festivals that don't just celebrate work but create pathways to finance it—matters. Spain's been building serious momentum in the prestige TV lane, and connecting creators to investors in one place could accelerate what's already moving. Whether it becomes the kind of draw that actually moves capital or stays a nice-to-have networking event is the real question.
