Spotify Plants a Flag in Haryanvi Music
Spotify's betting big on Haryanvi—and the numbers back it up.

Spotify just launched a dedicated Haryanvi music hub, and it's not random. The streaming giant saw Haryanvi listenership blow up nearly 7x over the past year, which is the kind of growth that makes platforms sit up and pay attention.
This is what happens when regional music stops being an afterthought. Haryanvi—the language and sound coming out of Haryana and surrounding areas in north India—has been building a real fanbase on streaming, and Spotify's making that official with a flagship playlist and its own branded space.
It's part of a bigger shift in how streaming services treat languages and regions outside the mainstream Anglo-American axis. When the numbers move like that, the playlists follow. Haryanvi artists and producers have been putting in the work; now the platform's acknowledging the lane exists and it's worth curating seriously.
This is good for the artists, good for listeners who actually live in those regions, and honestly, a smart business move for Spotify. Growth is growth—doesn't matter what language it's in.
