Spotify's Getting the VMA Footage Game Now
MTV's biggest 2026 moments—Madonna, Charli, Taylor's new video—heading to Spotify

Spotify just made a move to keep you from having to bounce between apps. The streaming giant is adding video performances from this year's MTV VMAs, which means some of the award show's standout moments are coming straight to the platform.
We're talking the Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX collab (that's a lot of star power in one medley), Kacey Musgraves paying tribute to Dolly Parton, and Taylor Swift's new music video debut. Instead of hunting these clips down on YouTube or wherever else, you'll be able to catch them on Spotify alongside the audio.
It's a smart play from Spotify—keeps people in the ecosystem, lets them build out their video catalog beyond the usual live performances and behind-the-scenes stuff. For fans, it's just convenience. For the platform, it's another reason to stay scrolling.
This is becoming Spotify's thing: own more of the moment, not just the music.
