Suno Cutting a Deal With Believe Artists for AI Training
The AI music startup is building its next-gen models on real artist catalogs—and cutting the people who made them into the deal.

Suno just inked a strategic partnership with Believe, the independent music distribution and services company. Here's the move: Suno gets to pull from Believe's roster of artists to train its next generation of AI music models. In return, participating artists get a cut of the revenue.
This is different from the usual AI music beef we've seen. Instead of scraping and training on everything whether artists said yes or not, Suno's going the consent route—at least with this group. Believe's got thousands of independent and emerging artists under its umbrella, so there's real material to work with.
The details are still light on what "share of revenue" actually means or how the math works out. But philosophically, this matters. It's an admission that AI models need real artistry to get good, and the people providing that deserve something back. Whether artists will feel the deal's fair is another story.
