The Wrong Girls Pulls Together a Serious Indie Rock Dream Team

Dylan Meyer's new film isn't messing around with its soundtrack.

When a movie needs to feel right — especially one built for late-night vibes — the music can't be an afterthought. The Wrong Girls, which dropped in theaters this weekend, clearly understood the assignment. Ty Segall handled the score, which should tell you everything about the sonic texture they were going for. The guy's built his whole reputation on garage and psych-rock precision, so a Segall soundtrack means you're getting something intentional and weird in the best way.

But the film didn't stop there. Mannequin Pussy showed up for a scene (always a flex), and you'll catch Sheer Mag in the opening credits alongside Tacocat. That's a solid pull of artists who actually matter in the underground rock space — not soundtrack filler, not placeholder bands. These are the kinds of acts that make people lean forward and pay attention.

It's the kind of attention to detail that separates movies that feel alive from ones that just exist. Whether The Wrong Girls lands or not, at least someone cared enough to get the vibe right.
