Big Michael's Looze Cannon Freestyles Are Proof That Funny Rappers Hit Different

Big Michael got the internet in a chokehold with his comedy freestyles on Looze Cannon, and honestly? It's refreshing to see someone lean all the way into the humor without losing the rap credibility.

There's an art to making people laugh on the mic that cats don't always respect in hip-hop. You still gotta have pocket, wordplay, and timing — it's just deployed for laughs instead of threats. Big Michael's got all of that in spades, and he's using it to build something real.

The thing about funny rappers is they often get slept on when awards and playlists roll around, but that doesn't make the skill any less valid. Comedy freestyles live forever online, get shared in group chats, get quoted back to you three years later. That's the culture-moving stuff right there.

If Big Michael keeps riding this wave, we might actually see a lane open back up for rappers who treat hip-hop like an entertainment art form first. Nothing wrong with that at all.
