Hagai Levi and Spanish Duo Clean Up at Barcelona's Serielizados Awards

The creator behind 'The Affair' and a powerhouse Spanish team just reminded everyone why they're running the prestige TV game.

Hagai Levi—the guy who turned relationship drama into high art with 'The Affair' and 'Scenes From a Marriage'—took home best international series at Barcelona's Serielizados festival for 'Etty.' Meanwhile, the Spanish producing brothers Jorge and Alberto Sánchez-Cabezudo ('La Zona') cleaned up in the national competition with 'Killing a Bear,' which the fest apparently called "astonishing."

Serielizados dropped both wins Saturday night, cementing what we already know: Levi knows how to dig into the messy emotional core of a story, and the Sánchez-Cabezudo brothers keep making Spain's TV landscape impossible to ignore.

The festival also handed out the Mind the Gap Pitch Prize to 'El Observatorio,' signaling where the buzz is heading for projects still in development.

It's the kind of recognition that doesn't move ratings but moves the culture—proof that quality storytelling still gets its flowers at the international level, even when the algorithm wants everything loud.
