Jerry O'Connell Showed Up as a Sentient Head of Lettuce and We're Still Recovering
The Stand By Me actor took Halloween to a place nobody asked for.

Jerry O'Connell walked into Live With Kelly and Mark on October 30th dressed as a full-on head of lettuce, and honestly, it's the kind of bit that lives rent-free in your brain whether you want it to or not.
The whole thing played as a callback to something from back in the day—one of those reference costumes that makes sense if you were there for it, less so if you weren't. But that's kind of the point, right? Halloween at that level of visibility becomes about the joke between the host and the guest, and the rest of us are just trying to figure out what we're looking at.
It's that perfect crossroads where a celebrity costume stops being funny as a costume and becomes funny because you can't believe someone actually committed to it on live TV. Not trying too hard, not phoning it in—just lettuce energy, if you will.
Celebrity Halloween always tells you something about who's willing to lean into the bit versus who's going to show up in basic black and call it a day. O'Connell clearly falls into the former camp, for better or worse.
