Mediacorp & Blintn Team Up on 'Collateral Romance,' Singapore-Korea Rom-Com

Singapore's broadcast giant doubles down on Korean storytelling with a new 12-episode love story shot across both countries.

Mediacorp and South Korean production company Blintn are joining forces on Collateral Romance, a romantic comedy that'll split filming between Singapore and South Korea. It's a 12-episode run that signals where Mediacorp's creative head is at right now—leaning hard into Korean partnerships and content.

This isn't Mediacorp's first rodeo with Korean drama. The Singapore broadcaster's already got one co-production under its belt and clearly sees more potential in that lane. That's the move when you're trying to build something beyond your home market—borrow from neighborhoods that know how to tell those stories.

The project's got backing from Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority, which means there's real institutional support behind this thing. It's the kind of regional collaboration that's becoming more common as streamers and broadcasters wake up to the fact that great content doesn't stop at borders. A rom-com shot across two countries could either be gold or messy, but if the chemistry's there and the writing lands, this could work.
