These Filmmakers Lived in a Campervan for 3 Months to Chase a Cyclist's Story
Dedication to the craft hits different when you're literally on the road.

Directors Adam and Christian Bonke didn't just make a documentary about nomadic cyclist Maximilian Schnell—they became nomads themselves. The brothers and their cinematographer spent three months cramped in a campervan, hauling serious equipment across whatever terrain Schnell pedaled through, to capture the film now showing at the Tallinn festival.

They made the decision to live the lifestyle they were documenting, which changes how you see and shoot everything. You get the texture of movement, exhaustion, and uncertainty because you're actually feeling it alongside your subject.
Their film is screening at Tallinn right now, which means they already took the risk and put in the work. Whether the footage justifies those three months in close quarters—that's what audiences get to decide. But at least they earned the right to tell this story.
