Artist Spotlight

daviddia!: The new wave in the UK Underground?

"I dont have to copy other artists to make good music."

I made this song at a point in my life when I needed self confidence more than anything else. So really I just wrote about bigging myself up and being content on my own, which is where the hook comes from. There wasn't a lot in that song which reflected my true mental state at the time, rather it reflected where I wanted to be. So basically a fake it till you make it kinda thing.

Where it started

I've always had a deeper connection with music my whole life, my life always seemed to revolve around something musical. Later in life, I found that writing songs was an amazing way to cope with things I found challenging or hard to stomach. Then I discovered Bandlab, started messing around and its been up from there.

The come-up

I think the biggest thing I struggled with is learning to be confident and content with my art. Music is subjective and there's always gonna be people who don't like it. But I found that the less I care about unsolicited opinions, and the more I open myself up to constructive criticism, the happier I will be with my music.

The project

The latest is on my own https://open.spotify.com/album/4OsCEEFUacgNd9dKYJXvhX?si=Uu2slofnRPeLsBMZxn-10A. I made this song at a point in my life when I needed self confidence more than anything else. What daviddia! wants his fans to know

I don't like the term 'fans', it creates this illusion that I am above them in some way when really I'm just a normal guy who makes music. I wouldn't be anywhere without my supporters and I owe everything to them, the word 'fan' doesn't do them justice. But I hope as many people can resonate with my music as humanly possible, and that they find the same comfort in it that I do fr.

What's next

My newest single 'daydream' comes out October 24th at midnight, it's a little different from my current sound but I hope people can still enjoy it even more than my current music. If everything goes right I will have a studio album out late 2027. I am in conversations to get a show in London for the end of the year but there is nothing confirmed yet.
